On the 14 August 2019 I was quoted R 95 000 Rand for Solar panels and a Solar Geyser by KZN SOLAR CENTRE. The system that I was quoted on was meant to run fully on solar power in the day and just use Eskom in the evening to charge the battery. I did mention to Daryl that I my ovens are on 6 days a week from 8 am to 4pm, he assured me that the system he was to install is equipped to handle this. I was asked for a deposit of R75 000 for the material and the balance of R20 000 for his labor which was to be paid on completion that took 2 days. On 15 August 2019 I paid the deposit of R 75 000 into his bank acc, he acknowledged payment and he confirmed installation for Monday 19 August 2019. On 18 August 2019 he messaged me saying he had a problem with both his vehicles and he will install on Tuesday 20 August 2019. On 19 August 2019 he said that he still has vehicle trouble and will install on Sunday 25 August 2019. I told that I was upset and already started regretting my decision. He then said Friday 23 August 2019, but soon changed it back to the Sunday. On 25 August 2019 he said that he was testing another system and will complete my installation 5pm on 26 August 2019. I was really upset and asked him for refund as no work or materials were supplied or installed on my premises, I also provided him with my banking details. He ignored my request and said that he would be here at 9am on 26 August 2019, he pitched up here at 1pm we told him that we wanted the battery outside … he left the inverter and took both his staff members with him to buy the board.. He quoted me R2000 for a solid presentable cupboard. He came back at 4:30pm and dropped off the board. He told me that his 2 workers will be here at 8 am on 27 August 2019 , they pitched up at 10:30 and sat on my property doing nothing until 12:30 because they didn’t have the appropriate tools to work. They put the cupboard they were done by 3:30pm the 8 panels arrived at 2:30pm, his staff said that they could not start installing the panels as they did not have the brackets for the asbestos roof I have. On 28 August 2019 he said that he was going to arrive at 9am his staff started work at about 10am, they put that panels up and left at 3:30. Daryl sent me a voice note confirming that my work will be completed on 29 August 2019. On 29 August 2019 nobody came to work, I messaged Daryl to ask what was going on, he said that there was a weather warning and they wont be coming in, I was not informed of this. He said he will come in on the 30 August 2019, on the 30th he said that his staff is not coming in and he will see me on the 1 September 2019 he said that the cables for the battery was not available. (I don’t understand this as the installation was supposed to be completed on 18 August 2019 already, yet he still doesn’t have the material) He promised Monday 1 September 2019 but then messaged me to say that the cables will only arrive in the afternoon. He then said 3 September 2019, he then said there is township violence and his guys are not coming. By this time, I had lost patience and felt that Daryl is not capable of service delivery. I told him that I was very upset and that I wanted a refund, he refused. I told him that if he gives me proof of purchase, I will pay him for the material, he refused. I messaged him saying that I have sought legal advice and that I do not want him proceed any further. I have all messages from Daryl
Very poor service to start with; they waste your time by not answering calls.
