Caprica Solar

The service I received from Caprica Solar has been superb. I contacted them regarding an error on my inverter and they went above and beyond to assist me on the same day to resolve the issue. This was my first experience with them and I can definitely recommend this company.

They were the only place I could find in Gauteng who could repair my inverter and they will do it very affordably as they have the specialised skills to replace individual chips instead of entire components. I had to bring the unit in all the way from Mpumalanga but it was well worth it. The local solar company would only quote to replace the inverter.

Great service. They work on very short lead times for installation once you have agreed on the plan. Owner is a nice&patient guy. He took his time explaining all the energy plans they have, pros and cons of each before we could make a decision. System they installed for us works great, no complaints, especially with the lithium batteries. Only problem is that it quickly goes into overload if you have your high surge gadgets on such as kettle, iron etc, but that obviously depends on size of your system. Otherwise system works smoothly.

I am really impressed with the service I received in repairing my inverter, however there was a delay in them arranging courier collection. Unfortunately when they received and checked it, I was informed that because it's an unknown import, they do not have parts available to repair it I made peace that I would have to purchase a new one, but 3 days later they called me to inform me that they have sourced the necessary parts and that they will be able to repair the inverter It's now been almost two months since the inverter has been returned and I'm very satisfied with it's functioning If need be, I will definitely make use of t them again and can honestly recommed Caprica Solar. I

The system been running for almost six months nonstop despite excessive load shedding. I do recommend them.

Service is good and they do try their best with quick turn around times. Challenging to find, its in the alleyway between Braam Fischer Street and the parking lot on Pretoria Street. Park in this lot for ease of access. They charge a R690 fee for devices. Wasn't happy with their quote on the repair of my Luxpower SNA5000, which amounted to R5000 for the replacement of the main board....with a 3 month warranty. A new one would cost about R10.5k with a 2 year warranty. Got a more affordable repair quote from another experienced repair shop, recommended by the inverter supplier.

A year ago I received good service from Caprica, however, since then their service have gone to the dustbin. The last inverter that I had repaired there was in the shop for months. I had to contact them on a regular basis for feedback. They never return your calls or keep their promises. They were suppose to install a new main board in the inverter, instead they tried to repair it ( they later admitted it ), although the amount on the invoice reflected the cost of a new board. Result was that after months of delays and promises, the unit was received. After re-installation it ran for 30 seconds and then blew the 100 amp battery fuse, as it did before they repaired it. I installed a new inverter for my client at my cost in order to save myself from further embarrassment. I contacted Caprica in this regard. I am again waiting for feedback. You use them at your own risk.
