Nico Energy

Got my solar installed in October in Pietermaritzburg and I’m really impressed. Great service, friendly team, and the system works brilliantly. No regrets!

I’m from Eastern Cape and I found Nico Energy through a social media page. I contacted them, got a quotation and decided to go full off the grid because I was spending around R2000 every month on electricity. They installed my system 2 months ago and honestly I’m so happy now. No more huge bills! The service has been great too, especially from Mishek who helped me over the phone. That’s why I’m giving this review – definitely recommend Nico Energy!

Firstly to get them to inspect the place took calls and a week for them to do an inspection. The inspection done quote accepted and a wifi dongle was included in the quote. On the agreed day of installation the 8am agreement was not adhered to by the installer whom arrived after 13h00 pm after multiple calls to the installer Christpher and the owner Nico Energy. Installation preceded well after 18h00 pm. At the end when asked about the dongle they conveniently did not have one. The system operation was not explained, the user manuals was taken away. The installers workmanship leaves much to be desired, the brackets holding the batteries are different to each other. One on the brackets has 4 screws in one drill hole holding it up. When I addressed this with the installer his response was he will come back with the dongle to sort out, the cabling is untidy and undesirable. Just before the installer could leave he insisted for a full payment even though the work was incomplete. He did not leave until payment was done. Nico Energy agreed to send the installer back to me to have the work done correctly and the dongle installed. It has now been 2 weeks after numerous calls to Nico energy and the installer Christopher the work is still left incomplete and no dongle. Even though the installer agreed to certain dates and times still the job remains incomplete. They lie to their customers blaming each other when they both are in the same boat being deceitful.

I ordered and paid for a 8kva hybrid invertor and a 7.68kva lithium battery and installation. The battery that was supplied was only a 5kva. No surge protectors or fuses was installed. The earth leakage on the property was bypassed, posing a huge risk. When contacting Jabulani to have this rectified, he made promises and has not gotten back to me in a week. He is also ignoring my calls and messages. I would not trust this company with any installation. I would strongly not recommend them.

We ordered solar panels from Nico Energies. We placed the order on the Monday night, confirmed stock and paid Tuesday and the delivery was Wednesday morning at no extra costs. They addressed all my questions and concerns quickly on WA. We will definitely use this company again in future. Thank you for the excellent service Nico Energies.

Be VERY diligent with your dealings with these resellers. there paper trail is basically none existing... And be very careful when picking up your order as they will not supply you with the product you where advertised on there website. They at first did not have the small things like battery cables, fuse, fuse holder, small wall mounted DB and breaker, and I had to reminded them of the items and then wait 40 minutes for them. But that was not there biggest mishap. They somehow did not check there stock before giving it to me, and supplied me with a 80ah 3.8kWh N enery battery. (the smaller battery) When they advertised and sold me a 100ah 4.8hWh battery. So please, when you read this review...
