I engaged this company in December to install a solar system at my home. Shortly after installation, I experienced water ingress through the roof during rain, which prompted repeated attempts to obtain service and resolution. In December, the roof was assessed for the installation. When it rained, water leaked through the roof. I attempted to contact the company multiple times without a timely response. On an initial visit, they inspected and stated they could not locate a leakage source, though they did observe a pool of water in the upstairs living area. The problem persisted, and due to pre-scheduled December holidays, I could not pursue it immediately. In January 2026, I requested a roof specialist to assess the issue. The company instructed me to source a specialist and connect them with the installers. The roof specialist they referred could not perform repairs because, as an there were solar panels and he did not want to touch them since he was not authorized to work on the roof with solar panels in place. The roof specialist provided contacts, but the installers insisted that their own team would perform the roof repairs, rather than relying on external experts I had identified. The installers conducted an on-site visit, documented the condition with photographs, and subsequently claimed that all was well. On 22 February, during heavy rainfall, water intrusion recurred from the same location. When I contacted the company, they indicated they were no longer willing to address the issue and suggested I seek alternative remedies. I paid R240,000 for the installation and now feel that the service and post-installation support have been unsatisfactory and insufficiently accountable. What I had expected: Prompt, transparent communication with a clear escalation path for post-installation issues. A coordinated investigation of roof leaks related to the solar installation, involving appropriate roofing and electrical/solar specialists. Responsible follow-up service to rectify any defects and to address weather-related damage. My recommendations to others: Ensure a written service agreement that specifies post-installation warranties, response times, and escalation procedures. Require a joint assessment by a licensed roofing professional and a qualified solar/electrical technician for any leakage concerns connected to roof work and solar installations. Consider independent third-party assessments if water intrusion occurs during or after installation. I hope the company revises its post-installation support processes to better serve customers in the future.
